Dining out is more than just a meal; it's a vibrant experience that engages your senses. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, enjoying a casual night out, or simply craving something delicious, the right restaurant can make all the difference. In this guide, we will explore some of our favourite restaurants in Hakuba that aren't too far away.
Navigating the Dining Scene
The dining scene is constantly changing, with new restaurants emerging and established ones reinventing their menus. From high-end dining to cozy cafes, the options are diverse. Knowing the types of restaurants can help you find the perfect spot for your next meal so we've done this list by genre and tried to ensure their close.
Must-Try Restaurants

Delicious Japanese dishes. Our favourite is the curry udon. Booking is not available so turn up at 5:50pm or the second sitting and you'll be safe to get a seat.

2. Easier, cheaper, always amazing - 7 Eleven
Yes, we hear you, it's not groundbreaking but it's always in budget and available. But here's the catch, we don't want their rubbish. In Japan, garbage has to be cleaned and broken down into separate bins. So please, buy it there, eat it there and leave the rubbish there. That's how they're set up. It's a Japanese thing. Trust me.
Distance really close

Make Reservations
To secure a table at your desired restaurant, particularly during busy times, always consider making a reservation. A lot of guests reserve for the next night while they are out and about. This helps you avoid long waits and ensures you can enjoy your meal on time. Check out who allows online bookings through the app table check or borrow the hotel phone but typically the restaurants are busy from open so don't always pick up.
There is always dining in with us at The Temple
You can just eat in, we run a basic, cheap and cheerful eatery here at the Temple. There is Nightly specials on rotation, bar bites, pies, Hot dogs or our amazing Korean Pop Corn Chicken.
